What's New
Wednesday, February 26: the new software is
available for downloading.
New Features:
- Main screen is now a "virtual campus"
- All features of system are accessed through the building that
represents them
- Library, Student Union, Bookstore, Registrar's office have been added
- User Profile Information screens and class registration screens
have been modified, updated
- List of new features now appears when software first loads
- Feedback is requested at end of each session
- documentation now available online
Release Schedule

feature. The features are listed in the approximate order they will be
released. Minor enhancements and bug fixes will occur all the time!
Q1 1997
- Moderation Control - The moderator of a class will be able to set
the modes of discussion at any point during the class.
- Transcripts of class sessions
- User Search Engine - find users by their profiles
Q2 1997
- MIME support in email - email can handle attached files
- Testmaker - an intuitive software package for making tests and
homeworks that will be automatically graded online.
- color support in jots
- font support in jots
- Creator of private talk sessions can invite extra people to join in
- forwarding option for personal email
- Registrar will show class descriptions
- Union will support user created discussion rooms - public and private
Q3 1997
- Teachers can pass out feedback cards at any point during class
- Moderators of groups can post webpages and other files directly to the server
- Online Tutoring - student tutoring device built into classes
- Teacher Gradebook - teachers can receive the scores from the
online tests and homeworks and can track a student's progress
throughout the course.
- Teambuilder - assemble a team of fellow students to tackle group
projects
- Improved Security: kerberos
- color and font support in emails
